Voice mail facility

Today i understood why people hate voice mail on phone lines. I happened to call a (supposedly) 24 hr helpline and guess what I reached the voice mail box and ended up paying for the call....Voice mail is god!!!!!!!!!!!

Saurav bashing!

Saw an interesting news piece which said "Both saurav and tendulkar are out of form...why are crying for axing saurav but egging sachin?". Really interesting thought...the author went to say "if Australia can play without a Waugh, the ragged West Indies can drop Lara why not India let Sachin go for a few matches?". Is our star worship doing bad to us.

I would not accept to the first statement as sauravs drop in form is really huge while sachin has gone down accoring to his standards though he is performing well enough to merit a place even without his past records. But the question assumes a lot of significance seeing Lara perform better now that he is back after a three ODI match "rest" he had.

Are we letting emotions block our progress in cricket? Are we seeing more into past than into future? Lots to ponder!!! As the cliche goes "Miles to go before we sleep".

Krishna with the moustache!!!

Today I became a comedian for no mistake of mine! Someone asked me the meaning of my name. I started describing the triplicane temple god - venkatakrishna and why he is "venkata"krishna and on the way i mentioned - "we have a temple in triplicane where krishna is depicted with a moustache just after mahabharatha war". Everyone started making comments like mebbe due to war he didnt find time to shave, etc and started laughing!!! The truth is Krishna, bacause he was a charioteer to Arjuna, grew a moush (which is typical of charioteers at that time) during the war and the lore is that Krishna gave darshan to Bhaktas in Triplicane just after the war. Bihar and my views.....

Just saw a news that says this is the first time in Indian constitutional history that no party has been given a chance to form a government, in terms of not being invited to form. Dunno whether its true or not.
Imagine we have invested, lots n lots of public exchequer and a large contingent of military and paramilitary forces, a few gun shots, some lives and lots more, into one of the cleanest elections (considering there was not many complaints of mass booth capturing or any other irregularities) in Bihar and now all that we get is Laloo gets stronger at the expense of Cong n Paswan. NDA comes out as the only anti-Laloo front. Dont u think its horsetrading by a few politicians with public money instead of their money? Isnt it better to let horsetrading with party funds than public exchequer?
I just hope the answer to the first question is no tho some instinct tells me its nearer to being affirmative!

ORID framework and KOSHA theory

ORID stand for Objective-Reflective-Interpretive-Decisional. The framework suggests we should use a logical flow of O-R-I-D for best effect. This is how our brain processes any situation/communicates and so it gives effect.

This framework has been around in tacit form from time immemorial in India as KOSHAs. There are 5 KOSHAs, 4 where man lives and the 5th is the immortal level.
The Physical level (Annamaya KOSHA) - Objective data only (India won a test match series abroad).
The Emotional level (Manomaya KOSHA) - Feelings/reflections (The whole country is feeling happy coz India won).
The Intellectual level (Gyanamaya KOSHA) - Inference/Interpretation (Indian team ranking is going to improve).
The Energy level (Pranamaya KOSHA) - Decisional level (Indian team should continue performing this way).
The Immortal level (Anandamaya KOSHA).

Indian history suggests, in any situation the human mind travels the different KOSHAs and anytime one goes till the Pranamaya would bring success.

Thus, anytime we communicate we can use a simple process of putting across objective data first, understanding underlying emotions, then applying logic to it and making a decision. The most surprising thing is realising this works in anything - announcements, conversation with a stranger, fighting with autowalla, interviews, any communication sequence. Ex: a fight with autowallah;

Reflections

reflecting on yesterday the best thing i learnt was that the toughest part in life is to reflect on the past......

Finding and Universalizing Best Processes

I just had a brainwave..........Have u guys ever thot what we exactly do in this!!!!!!! simple ctrl+c, ctrl+v and now my project is heading that way.....finding best practices and rolling out to all places :)

Back to Square One

I mean it literally...my life back to term 1 at IIMB acshully.....classes from morning to evening and cases n projects n stuff to do after tat n no time coz we cant meet much ppl!!!!!!!! man life is challenege abhi tho....n i am gonna love it....

L^2 to E^2

Day b4 i had been to the E^2 multiplex.........had good food.....shopped a bit....roamed around for sometime but dint end up seeing a movie tho...even @ 12.30 in the nite, there was a healthy crowd and there is a movie show at 12:00 midnite.....that reminded me of life@L^2 :)

For the uninitiated L^2 is the happening spot at IIMB and E^2 is a happening spot in Pune city.
