Really nice to visit...if you have enthu characters to keep you running with energy all day along...can spend one good day there...
This is nice theme park...some water rides...some normal ones...sea lion shows....a good little aquarium...jelly fishes to see...amazing variety at that....dolphin shows....last but not the least the ABYSS (I did not try this...had a prior experience of a similar ride...one experience is enuf)....its very much a mini sea world....I had been once to the sea world in san antonio...
The whole thing is set on hills...thr is a highland area and lowland area...two sections in the theme park...lowland is more of the children's area, aquarium, dolphins, etc while the highland area has the rides and both are connected by a really nice ropeway....the ropeway has an excellent view...best enjoyed on a clear day....
we had been there in a big gang...16 people and enjoyment galore..the weather predictions were rite...there was a mild thunderstorm....lots of rain but the folks thr r efficient...one hr from the rains and all rides were open....since these are on hills and it was a clody rainy day...brilliant scenery...superb chance to observe and click along with the cloud cover on the hill tops and distant buildings appearing misty with the clouds...superb opportunity if u luv to click nature....like i do....went berserk n took abt 250 pics on a single day!!!
n last but not the least...this is run by a not-for-profit organization with an orientation towards educating people about marine life...need to conserve them, etc..it is worth the 185bucks entrance ticket and when you come to know about the not-for-profit part it makes u feel even nicer :)
Also...some tips....if u do get a chance...start from the higland area...get in from the Tai Shue Wan entrance...that way you can escape a lot ofo the crowd which would start at the Main Entrance...Also...thr r special buses from Admiralty Station B exit and Central Star Ferry points...these take u straight to Tai Shue Wan entrance...
Also....try to do as many of the rides (specially the ABYSS and roller coaster) before lunch as u can...thats my take....as for lunch goes...thr r decent chinese eateries...also a pizzeria and McDonalds available but if u r veggie u better take some stuff on u....the pizzeria is strictly non-veg....btw the park open at 10AM and closes at 6/7PM depending on the day of the week....so plan to start ur day early so as to have amximum time there...
